Brian Dodridge [e-mail]

Associate Pastor/Discipleship
Brian joined the FBC staff in June of 1999. Brian is from Phoenix, Arizona where he attended Grand Canyon University and received his Bachelor’s in Christian Education. He received his Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Brian is married to his high school sweetheart, Deanna and they have two daughters, Dakota and Jernigan. Brian has previously served the North Phoenix Baptist
Church in Phoenix, AZ.

Truett King [e-mail]

Associate Pastor/Pastoral Care/Sr. Adults & Missions
Truett joined the staff of First Baptist Church of Lewisville in January 1998. He earned his undergraduate degree BA in Speech and Drama with minor in Religion. Truett received his Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 1979. Truett has served churches in Topeka, Kansas; Rogers, Arkansas and Hot Springs, Arkansas as Associate Pastor/ Minister of Education. He has served as a foreign missionary to South Korea as Religious Education Consultant to the Korean Baptist Convention appointed by the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. For 11 years he was a consultant to churches in 15 states with LifeWay Christian Resources’ Church Growth Group. He has lead conferences in churches, state conventions and national level on a variety of topics in the area of Christian Education and church growth. Before full time ministry Truett taught Sunday School, Discipleship and Mission Education as a layman while working in medical research.

Mikel Hatfield [e-mail]

Student Minister
Mikel joined the staff in December, 2004. She has lived in Waco for the past six and a half years where she completed her undergraduate degree BA in English Literature at Baylor University. She is currently working on her Masters of Divinity at Truett Theological Seminary. She grew up here at First Baptist Lewisville and is thankful to have the opportunity to serve and love on students at her church home. Mikel has previously served as Associate Student Minister at First Baptist Church, Woodway, Texas.

Jay Haugh [e-mail]

Associate Student Minister
Jay Haugh joined FBC to be Associate Student Minister in April of 2006. Jay was born in Muskegon, MI, but grew up in Milford, Indiana. He graduated from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Mn. where he received a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy. Jay is currently working on his Master's of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. Jay is married to his beautiful wife, Jen. Jay is excited about working with students in hopes of challenging and equipping students to seek, serve, share, and savor Christ above all!

Wayne Cotton [e-mail]

Children's Minister
Wayne joined the staff of FBC in May, 2007.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Religious Education from Howard Payne University in 1991 and received his Master of Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 2000. Wayne has served on staff at several churches in Texas, as a Children’s Minister, Student Minister and Education Minister. Wayne and his wife Jana moved to the Lewisville area from DeSoto.  They were married in 1992 and have a four year old daughter named Zoe, who was adopted from China.  Wayne has a passion for ministry with children and their families.   He desires to help them discover and develop a life that is focused on worshipping Christ in words and deeds.

Sherry Shaw [e-mail]

Preschool Minister
Although Sherry was born and raised in North Carolina (a Tar Heel) her parents have lived in Fort Worth, Texas for 20 years, longer than they ever lived in any one town while she was growing up. Needless to say, Fort Worth seems more like home. Sherry earned her Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina in 1990. After college she worked in management with Family Christian Stores serving stores in North Carolina and Texas. In the summer of 1993 she enrolled in the Master of Arts in Christian Education program at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated in May of 1997 with her MACE with a concentration in Childhood Education. She has served in preschool and/or children’s ministries in the following churches: First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas; Kingwood First Baptist Church, Kingwood, Texas; First Baptist Church of Norfolk, Norfolk, Virginia. She has led Preschool and Children’s conferences for LifeWay, BGCT, Union Baptist Association in Houston, Texas and BGMB of Virginia. She has also published articles in the Sunday School Leader and the In Ministry with Children magazines. Her latest passion fulfilled was being able to collaborate and write new Christian’s curriculum for children published by LifeWay entitled I’m a Christian Now. She loves preschool ministry because of all the varied ways she gets to touch lives for Jesus and plant seeds of faith in the lives of so many little ones.

Susan McClelland [e-mail]

Associate Preschool Minister
Susan moved to Lewisville in 1992 and has been serving in Preschool Ministry since then in one capacity or another. As Associate Preschool Minister she oversees the Child Development Center, provides and supervises childcare for church events, and assists the Preschool Minister in planning and implementing programs for our little ones. Susan is a native Oklahoman and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma with a degree in Family Relations/Child Development. She has been married for over 30 years to her soul mate, Ken. Together they have two sons, one daughter-in-law and one grandbaby on the way!
