The office of Deacon is not an office of authority, but one of service. A man who agrees to serve as a Deacon in a New Testament church agrees to be an example in spirit, love, devotion, and loyalty. The 4 general duties of the Deacon Ministry at FBC Lewisville are: (1) leading the Church in achieving its mission, (2) proclaiming the Gospel to believers and unbelievers, (3) Caring for Church members and others in the community, and (4) building and maintaining Church fellowship.
