Childcare

Childcare is provided for preschoolers during most regularly scheduled activities and special events. Teachers provide loving care, fun activities and Bible teaching in age appropriate classrooms.

Reservations

Childcare is available without reservations during Sunday morning Bible Study and worship services, Sunday afternoons during Children's Choirs and evening Worship events, and Wednesday evenings during AWANA and Worship Choir practice. All other childcare is by reservation only.

Reservations must be made at least five days in advance. To make a childcare reservation for Inreach Rally, First Women's Ministry (FWM) Joy in the Morning, FWM luncheon, Wednesday morning handbells/choir, Mother's of Preschoolers (MOPs), Fellowship Night or other special events as advertised, contact:
Susan McClelland, 972-436-5502, smcclelland@fbclewisville.org

Timely reservations will ensure a place for your child. Reservation requests after the deadline will be honored on a space-available basis. Timely cancellations may allow others with late reservations to have a place.

Checking In/Picking Up

Preschool rooms are available for sign in fifteen minutes before the start time of any event. Children should be picked up immediately following the event unless prior arrangements have been made. For childcare events that require reservations, children’s names and room assignments will be posted near the Preschool Desk. For all other events rooms will be assigned by age and posted at the classroom

Every time you leave your child in our care it is necessary for you to sign in on the attendance sheet outside the door. Be sure to make a notation of your whereabouts and any special instructions for the child’s teachers. You will be given a security card or pager which will serve as your “claim check” when picking up your child.

It is natural for young children to have difficulty separating from their parents. You can help ease the process by reassuring your child that you will return and then making a quick exit. Should your child not settle in a reasonable amount of time, you will be notified.

Parents will also be notified should a child become ill during the session. Keep your child home if he/she exhibits symptoms of fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash or any potentially contagious condition within the last 24 hours. When in doubt about your child’s health, please apply the Golden Rule.

Babies will be given bottles according to the parents’ instructions. Please feed your child meals before arriving, if you will be at church during mealtime. We do not provide meals. Age appropriate snacks are provided which may include saltines, animal cookies, graham crackers, Cheerios and goldfish crackers.

Please alert your child’s teacher to any allergies or special needs.
