Chris Christianson. We all know him. We worship in the same room with him. We have served on committees with him. We've had him over for dinner. He is one of us. And perhaps he is more a part of us than most of us would like to admit.

For the next six weeks, we're going to take a look at the Seven Deadly Sins. They are deadly because they rob us of the life God has intended for us as followers of Jesus and they ultimately lead to destruction.

LUST. The root word means something "boiling" or "bubbling" that leads to "the powerful moving of a powerful force." LUST is a powerful moving to fulfill our personal needs and desires. But LUST doesn't ultimately fill, it is deadly. God gives us desires. We must choose to satisfy them in God-honoring ways that make us more and more complete.

This Sunday, we'll see how our friend Chris deals with another deadly sin-GLUTTONY. See you then.
