Sherry Shaw

Preschool Minister
Sherry moved to Lewisville in October of 2004 to serve as the Preschool Minister here at FBC Lewisville. Before serving here she has served First Baptist Church Norfolk, VA as Minister of Childhood Development; Kingwood First Baptist Church, Kingwood TX as Minister to Children and First Baptist Church, Dallas TX as Preschool Ministry Associate. She graduated with a Bachelors in Religion and a minor in Music Education from Campbell University and a Master of Arts in Religious Education with a concentration in Childhood Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Sherry’s free time is spent catching up with and spending time with friends and family, hiking, reading fiction, biographies and blogs, crafting, and watching old movies. Sherry has many favorite Bible verses but of them all she likes Psalm 139 the most. Her favorite quote is "Dance like no one is watching, love like you'll never be hurt, sing like no one is listening, and live like it's heaven on earth."- William Purkey 

Susan McClelland

Associate Preschool Minister

Susan moved to Lewisville in 1992 and has been serving in Preschool Ministry since then in one capacity or another. As Associate Preschool Minister she oversees the Child Development Center, provides and supervises childcare for church events, and assists the Preschool Minister in planning and implementing programs for our little ones. Susan is a native Oklahoman and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma with a degree in Family Relations/Child Development. She has been married for over 35 years to her soul mate, Ken. Together they have two sons, one daughter-in-law and two adorable grandchildren!

In her free time Susan likes to read, watch movies and be creative. Her favorite Bible Verse is Psalm 57:2: “I cry out to God most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.” Her favorite quote is: “Joy is peace dancing and peace is joy resting.”  

Helen Boyles

Preschool and Children’s Ministry Assistant

Helen has lived in the Lewisville area for 32 years and has been a church member at FBC since 1982. She has worn a variety of hats during her time at FBC, as a teacher in a preschool Bible study classroom, Vacation Bible School and a volunteer in the church library. For the past 19 years as an employee of the church, Helen has worked as the receptionist, student ministry assistant for a brief time and currently is an assistant for our preschool and children’s ministers.

Helen and Bobby have been married since 1971 and have two grown sons, Nathan and Garrett. When Helen isn’t working she loves to catch up on her reading. Her favorite quote is: “Encouragement is oxygen for the soul.” Her favorite Bible verse is Hebrews 12:1-3 here is a paraphrase: About the time we are ready to give up, Jesus comes alongside and whispers, “Don’t quit, keep going, keep your eyes on Me, “as He provides His gentle touch of grace, joy and love at just the right moment.”
