Commit to our local community

Mission Madness – College basketball has March madness…we have Mission Madness! All during the month of March, FBC Lewisville will rally to create a whirlwind of service opportunities that will be absolute madness!  We have four anchor projects (Backyard Bible Club at Village North, Easter Eggstravaganza, Spirit Horse and Friends of the Family) and around 35 other service projects scheduled throughout the month. Each is an opportunity for you to help change lives. We want YOU serving during this month. Serve for one hour locally. Serve as a family. Serve as a group. Serve alone. Daytime, nighttime, weekends…no excuses. You can choose to serve and be part of fulfilling the commitment we have made as a church to God’s World.

Christian Community Action Projects – CCA is a non-profit organization that serves families in crisis by providing food, housing, medical care and vocational training, along with spiritual and personal support.  First Baptist Church members are highly involved in numerous ministries that are coordinated through the Minister of Missions and the Christian Life and Ministry team and CCA.  Some of these ministries are:

  1. Periodic food drives
  2. Kids Eat Free program – providing a lunch to children at the Village North Mobile Home Park and Vista Ridge Apartments every week day during the summer months
  3. Back to School Program – providing the children served by CCA the necessary school supplies and clothes to go back to school
  4. Thanksgiving and Christmas Food drive – typically focused on a single food item to help build meal baskets for these holiday meals
  5. The Christmas Giving Tree – We provide Christmas gifts to the underprivileged children in our community.
  6. Volunteers from our church help staff the Giving Tree at the Grapevine Mall.
  7. Enlisting volunteers for the Food Pantry at CCA

ESL / English as a Second Language program – We teach English to those in our community who are not native English speakers. On Thursday mornings, we teach multiple ESL courses at the Lilly Jackson Early Childhood Learning Center and on Wednesday evenings we teach a course at the church.

The Advocacy and Pregnancy Center is committed to empowering women by providing confidential, valuable, and complete information regarding her options during a pregnancy.  We help support and fund the Advocacy and Pregnancy Center.

Evergreen Senior Adult Apartment ministry – Our church provides a worship experience for senior adults at local apartments on Sunday afternoons.  This is a growing ministry with many opportunities for expansion.

Chin Ministry - The Chin are a group of people who are refugees from their home country of Burma due to persecution for their Christian faith. In all ways, they are trying to assimilate into our society, where they can practice their faith without fear of persecution. FBC along with several other churches in the area are helping them with housing, furniture, language needs, etc.
